  3. Oral Cancer examination
  4. Dental examination, evaluating condition of teeth and or restorations
  5. Periodontal examination
  6. Temporomandibular joint examination

  8. Occlusal (bite) examination
  9. Radiographs–Full Mouth Series or Bitewings
  10. Diagnostic study casts (models of your mouth), Bite Records
  11. Photographs that document your current condition/selected views

Once your examination is completed, Dr. Chernoff will present his findings and recommendations. He welcomes your comments, questions, and concerns. Together you can decide on a plan that is right for you. Each patient has a unique combination of needs, especially as teeth age. Some common options that many patients consider include:

  • If decay is present in any tooth, you will be asked to return for caries treatment. The different materials available in these procedures will be presented and explained.
  • Bonding and porcelain veneers can close spaces and can create a more beautiful smile.
  • Porcelain crowns and onlays and other esthetic dentistry can restore broken teeth, or teeth weakened with mercury, silver filings.
  • Implants can provide non-removable teeth to those who have lost teeth.
  • Bite problems can be solved.
  • TMJ problems can be solved or managed.
  • If you are wearing your teeth down because of bruxism, a night guard may be the best device to prevent further damage to your teeth.
  • You may desire whiter teeth and tooth whitening or tooth bleaching is available.
